Make Croatia Your Perfect Place for Your Wedding Day

Many couples decide as soon as they get engaged that a destination wedding is the right choice for them.

There are many reasons why a destination wedding is desirable. For one it is a lot simpler to plan your wedding – especially if you choose to hire a wedding planner to do everything for you! Two, it is also a lot more convenient to have a destination wedding than to plan your wedding at home for 400 to 500 guests just to please your parents and not to offend anybody.

Three, the great thing about a destination wedding is that those that accept your destination wedding invitation are people who are most closest to you and people who you really WANT to attend your wedding.

Finally, having a destination wedding is a lot more relaxing and your guests will love you for choosing a fun destination they will want to explore before and/or after your wedding.

Croatia was just named as one of top 3 destinations to honeymoon in 2016 by Harper Bazaar.

Why you should choose Croatia as your wedding destination!

Not only does Croatia have a vast number of natural beauties, it is surrounded by breathtaking scenery and historical monuments. It has a very mild Mediterranean climate and a long Adriatic coastline that you and your guests will love to explore. Every year it is growing in popularity and ever since Croatia became a member of the European Union it has become a more accessible destination by plane, car, train and boat.

Croatia is a very romantic destination.  It has so many beautiful cities and islands that have been attracting young people and couples all over the world.

It has some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world! Zadar, for example, is famous for its beautiful sunsets. Alfred Hitchcock has once said “Zadar has the most beautiful sunset in the world, more beautiful than the one in Key West, in Florida”.

There are many centuries old romantic towers and castles to visit all over Croatia. The Medieval Fortresses of Omiš is one example. It is a perfect place to ‘pop the question’ to your lady. There are three fortresses in this area, Fortress Starigrad, Mirabela – a Romanesque fortress, built in XIII. century and Zadvarje.  The image below was taken a couple of years ago where an actual proposal took place.

Trakošćan castle, located in the Croatian inland, is another romantic destination to explore. It is one of the best preserved historic buildings in the country and it is considered to be the most romantic and most beautiful castle in Croatia.

Other famous castles to visit include Veliki Tabor, in the northwest part of Hrvatsko zagorje; Savudrija Lighthouse in Istria; Toreta – The Tower of Love on the island of Silba, and many more.  Croatia has its very own Island of Love, the tiny island of Galešnjak, located in the Pašman channel, which is famous for its heart like shape.

Croatia has a very rich cultural heritage, with a vast number of museums, galleries and churches, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage sites.

Croatian cuisine is very rich, with authentic tastes and flavors from the different regions of the country.   Croatia is also famous for its great wine, and famous wine makers, such as, Mike Grgich who established and made famous the wineries of Napa Valley. Croatia has several distinct wine regions; Dalmatia and Istria are have been known to produce the best wines.  Every region is known for its authentic tastes and flavors, with every region offering centuries old traditions and recipes, influenced by diverse historical influences and all offering specialties prepared by local organic ingredients.

Now just imagine how romantic it would be to spend some well deserved alone time with your significant other, watching the sunset every night in difficult to access secluded areas, in an oasis of peace and tranquility.

The continental wonderland of mountains and streams, dense forests, lively rivers, stunning cliffs, over a thousand lush islands and hundreds of kilometers of breath-taking coastline. Croatia is a country forever about the value of authenticity, an independent spirit and a relaxed way of life – a perfect place to exchange your wedding vows and say “I do” to someone you have decided to spend the rest of your life with.
